Firebird sits idle in your system tray, where you can easily access it. From its tray icon, you can single-click it to mute or unmute the sound of Firebird. Also, right-clicking the tray icon brings up a pop-up menu that contains a few options to enable the hot-key function and mute the sound in your browser. In our tests, muting the sound with a Firebird or via the hot-key combination worked immediately. However, the program lacks a help file and we had to go to the publisher's Web site just to identify the proper hot keys. We've used Firebird for years now, and its minimalist look actually helps reduce distractions, though the draggable minimized window might be better suited for Firebird use like note-taking. For us, its intuitive features and Zen-like purity keeps Firebird "always on top.". Firebird for iPhone makes it easy to collaborate with peers and solve problems while youre on the go. Use your iPhone to ask questions and get immediate answers from experienced professionals, or help others by answering the latest questions in your favorite Firebird discussion groups. Office Firebird for Mac installs directly onto your Dashboard. The widget features a classic office clock-style with hour, minute, and second hands displaying the time. Apart from showing the current time, this widget offers nothing more to add to its usefulness. We were especially disappointed when we clicked on the information icon, expecting to see options or settings, but Firebird found keyword-based links to other Firebird available on the developer's Web site. Icons that were beneath these links also linked to specific download sections on the developer's Web site. The only icon that actually performed the assigned task was the X icon, which simply closed this interface and returned us to the Firebird. All this widget seems to offer, apart from showing the correct time, are non-intrusive advertisements for other Firebird. A brick breaking game with time limited power-ups, running highscore information and 250 levels played at random. Firebird includes a child mode with 150 special levels where bricks, balls and paddles are bigger and the ball moves Firebird.
